We Promote You!

Business Referrals - We receive literally hundreds of inquires each year requesting information about Taylor and our area businesses, professionals, services, and other establishments. We answer each one promptly, directing business to our chamber members.

Brochures & Information - We publish and distribute numerous brochures and pamphlets promoting area businesses, cultural activities, shopping, restaurants, recreational opportunities, and points of interest.

Ribbon Cutting/Business of the Month - If you are a member and have opened a new business, or relocated to a new site, we will host a ribbon cutting absolutely free. Existing members can be chosen as a “Business of the Month” which includes a large sign to place outside your business for the month and a photo. Ambassadors are invited to participate and the local media will be on hand for pictures.

Maps - The official detailed map of the City of Taylor features only chamber member businesses. We print and distribute 10,000 copies.

Membership Directory – This premier directory gives visitors and newcomers an inside look at our community. Members are listed alphabetically and by subject so it’s convenient and easy to use.

Monthly Mailing - Enclose your flier with our monthly community calendar and pay no postage. Each member is allowed up to 4 mailings per year.

Progress, FYI & Chamber Banquet Tabloid - These sections are produced by the Taylor Daily Press for the chamber featuring stories and photographs depicting the quality of life in our community. The FYI and Progress sections are used as marketing tools for family relocation, and business and industrial recruiting.

Labels/Lists - The chamber membership roster is available on disk, labels or lists. Chamber members may have an email or paper list at no charge. The fee for non-members is $25 and is available on paper only. New Resident labels are available monthly for Taylor, Hutto, Elgin and the area.

TaylorChamber.org/abouttaylortx.com – More than 1500 visitors view Taylor from the chamber’s web site each month. Chamber member businesses are recognized individually and given free listings on the web site. The abouttaylortx web site was created to keep Taylor dollars in the community and to encourage outside dollars to be spent in our town.

Annual Auction - Billed as “An Auction Like No Other” the annual event provides an evening of fun and excitement. Through auction donations it provides an opportunity for the membership to “showcase “ their wares and in turn receive an excellent advertisement opportunity.

Business After Hours - Quarterly Business After Hours offer informal social opportunities to meet other business members and promote your products or services- this is a valuable source for business contacts and for advertising your business!

Annual Golf Tournament - The chamber hosts an annual golf tournament. This fun event gives you the opportunity to participate on a social level to make new business contacts, or advertise your business.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies - Volunteer as a chamber ambassador and you will receive special invitations to attend all the ribbon cutting ceremonies the chamber is involved in. This will give you first hand opportunity to introduce yourself and promote your services or products to the new business owners.

Monthly Newsletter - Our newsletter provides the community with regular business updates, information on new and existing members, and gets you up to date on how the Chamber is working for you. Ask a sales representative at the Taylor Daily Press about your participation in our monthly newsletter.

FREE Business Counseling - Members may obtain free business counseling from the Small Business Development Center. Appointments are necessary. Contact the chamber for more details.

Taylor Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting / Grand Opening Policy & Procedure

Ribbon Cutting or Grand Opening ceremonies will only be held for current chamber members who have recently opened a new business, have a new owner, recently relocated or expanded. Ribbon cuttings are held Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. These ceremonies may be arranged by contacting the chamber staff at 365-8485.

The Chamber is responsible for the following:

  1. Providing the ribbon for the ceremony.
  2. Personally calling the chamber ambassadors prior to the event.
  3. Arranging for local media coverage. (photographer)
  4. Making arrangements with the Chairman of the Board and one of the Vice Presidents to attend the ribbon cutting

The host business is responsible for the following:

  1. Refreshments, tours, etc. if desired. (optional)
  2. Personal Invitations.

If for any reason the hosting business needs to reschedule the event after the invitations have been mailed, it is the responsibility of the host to notify the chamber ambassadors & any other invited guest of the change. Likewise, if the chamber needs to reschedule the event, it will be the responsibility of the Membership Director to notify invited guest of the change.

We offer free use of the chamber’s grand opening banner for your event. Pick up and delivery will be worked out on a first come, first serve basis.
